The East Warren Avenue Business Association is partnering with Detroit artist, Cedric Tai, to create an art installation on the East Warren Avenue Business district.
This community art piece called, Art Spot, uses work from 5 different local artists, paint and supplies from local businesses, imagery from local businesses and volunteers from the community to help put it all together.
The art work is installed in and on the windows of an otherwise vacant building at the N. side of East Warren Avenue and Kensington and will remain there until September 1st.
The opening for the Art Spot is Friday, August 1st at the North Side of East Warren Avenue and Kensington from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
There will be a follow up event at the Art Spot table at the East Warren Avenue Farmers Market on Saturday August 9th that will include free art portfolio reviews, an artists talk and a discussion on public art.
This is just a small piece of becoming aware of the possibilities of what we can do here, now.
